This is how spending time with myself changed my life.

I am someone who LOVES to experience new things in life like travelling, meeting new people, and experiencing everything that life has to offer.

  • The story goes back to when I was in class five, I remember one of my friends going on a family trip to Switzerland. At that point, I had never been abroad so I was envious of her. (You see not because she was on a holiday but because she was living MY dream).
    Anyway, I started crying in front of my family saying “I also want to visit new places, why don’t we ever travel?”. I didn’t get the answer but that day I decided that I would create the life of my dreams and it would be full of so much fun, adventure, travel, and stories because life is meant to be lived right?

  • Fast forward a few years, 17-year-old Sanchi thought that the fastest way to gain the freedom of making my dreams come true is to be financially independent as soon as possible so I decided to move to Australia for my Bachelor's degree.

  • I was a teenager, living in a new country with a different culture and I was experiencing the things I have always wanted to experience. My heart and soul were so happy when I took my first solo trip at the age of 19. OMG, what a trip (btw, highly recommend travelling solo at least once in your life ). Anyway, it all came crashing down very very soon when the pandemic happened and I was stuck, back in my home country, for straight 2 years.

  • 2020 was such a hard year for me as I completely lost myself, I was literally crying every day and could not leave my bed but by the end of that year, I was sooo tired of feeling this way that I decided to do something about it and YOU WON’T BELIEVE IT, MY LIFE CHANGED.

  • I used to wake up at 6 am every morning, make myself a chai, go to the rooftop (my holy place hehe), sit there in silence whilst watching the sunrise and drinking my chai (the best time of my day), write my thoughts down, do a bit of yoga and then read for 15 minutes. It was a whole 1.5-2 hour thing where I used to spend time with myself. Just myself. No one else, no phones, no nothing. Just me with my thoughts and feelings. This routine completely changed me and I would like to thank the pandemic for it. At that time it struck me - everything happens for a reason.

The result of that morning routine

  • I realised that my thoughts were DOPE. It’s crazy how much you learn about your mind when you write your thoughts and read them later. I was amazed by the amount of ideas that popped into my mind that were my original ideas.

  • I started to find joy in little things. You know how in my story I told you that I have always wanted a fun, adventurous, full of new things, kind of life? I realised I was sad because I thought only those things = happiness. Whilst they’re still very very important for me, I learnt that I could choose to be happy by finding joy in little things.

  • I slowly built such a deep and amazing relationship with myself that my favourite time of the day used to be that morning routine, which is why I used to JUMP out of my bed at 6 am because I knew I was going to spend time with my favourite person in this whole world, ME.

  • Finally, I was able to learn about my purpose in life, which is to inspire & empower others to live the life of their dreams.

YOU are a sunflower is the idea that you are beautiful just the way you are and can achieve whatever you set your mind to - all you have to do is believe in yourself. This self-love & growth journal aims to help you build a deep sense of connection and develop a healthy relationship with yourself.
